Last Friday, fuel cell industry leaders gathered at Nuvera’s headquarters to discuss fuel cell freeze start capabilities prior to the Department of Energy Merit Review in May. The PEM Freeze Workshop sought to prioritize future work and establish collaborations, in addition to sharing the most recent developments in the field.  Participants came from all sectors of the industry, from international governments to suppliers and fuel cell developers. Presentation topics ranged from specific technical achievements based on laboratory research to case studies on real world applications and experience.

Nuvera is a leader in freeze start activities, having achieved the DOE’s 2010 start up target of 50% rated power in 30 seconds at -20^oC in 2008.  To learn more about Nuvera’s freeze start achievements, click here.
