The world's population is more mobile than at any other time in history, which places extraordinary demand on fuel supplies. Spot shortages, escalating prices, and concerns about greenhouse emissions are reaching a critical mass. In the transportation industry, innovative technologies are being developed to address these concerns.
To meet this challenge, Nuvera is designing and prototyping transportation fuel cells to meet governmental emission regulations as well as consumers' performance expectations. Nuvera has developed a product family for the automotive industry that consists of both hydrogen power fuel cell stacks, called Andromeda™, and multifuel processors, called Star™. In doing so, we intend to pursue parallel paths toward commercialization, with the idea that gasoline-powered fuel cell vehicles will be viable by 2010 and act as a bridge to the future while a hydrogen infrastructure is developed.
