Nuvera is a world leader in the development of high-performance proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell stacks. A fuel cell is a static device for generating electric power. It combines hydrogen and oxygen in a chemical reaction that yields electricity, heat, and water. Nuvera's technology is differentiated by a metallic and open flowfield architecture that is operationally very stable and inherently low in cost. Stack designs have been standardized for two different applications, each with distinct operating requirements:
XDS-900 for industrial applications: the versatility and robustness of the XDS design allows for reliable and durable operation under the toughest of conditions. This stack is featured in our Forza and PowerFlow products. Durability on full scale stacks has reached over 10,000 hours.
Andromeda for automotive applications: the stack is designed for the priorities of the automotive market, which include compact, dynamic range and pressure operation, and freeze tolerance.
