Nuvera is a world leader in the development of high-performance proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell stacks. A fuel cell is a static device for generating electric power. It combines hydrogen and oxygen in a chemical reaction that yields electricity, heat, and water. Nuvera's technology is differentiated by a metallic and open flowfield architecture that is operationally very stable and inherently low in cost. Stack designs have been standardized for two different applications, each with distinct operating requirements:

XDS-900 for industrial applications: the versatility and robustness of the XDS design allows for reliable and durable operation under the toughest of conditions. This stack is featured in our Forza™ and PowerFlow™ products. Durability on full scale stacks has reached over 10,000 hours.

Andromeda™ for automotive applications: the stack is designed for the priorities of the automotive market, which include compact, dynamic range and pressure operation, and freeze tolerance.

The Nuvera Difference™
Nuvera's fuel cell stacks use metal bipolar plates and metallic open flow field architecture. -->  Allows for durable, efficient operation, AND low-cost, high-volume manufacturing.
Nuvera's fuel cell stacks use cathode water injection (CWI) technology. -->  Simplifies the balance of plant components needed to operate the stack.
Nuvera's fuel cell stacks are highly efficient, compact, lightweight, and durable. -->  We have achieved net electrical efficiencies of 50 to 55 percent.
Stacks are easy to service and have long life. -->  Stack sealing allows for bypass of damaged cells.
Tested and met military standards. -->  Nuvera's fuel cell stacks can withstand severe vibration and shock.
Nuvera's fuel cell stacks are well-suited for stationary and automotive applications. -->  Stacks are easy to service and offer great potential for low cost in high-volume manufacturing.
