PRESS RELEASE: Billerica, Mass. – Industry, academic, and government leaders interested in the future of the fuel cell industry will be attending the 2015 Ohio Fuel Cell Symposium to learn about the shift from research and development to commercialization that has been taking place in the fuel cell industry over the past decade.

Attendees will meet in Elyria, Ohio on June 15-16 for presentations on the state of the fuel cell industry, industry standards, and fuel cell deployments. Gus Block, Director of Marketing and Government Affairs at Nuvera Fuel Cells, will discuss the strategic acquisition of Nuvera Fuel Cells by Cleveland-based NACCO Materials Handling Group (NMHG) to offer fuel cell power and hydrogen supply solutions for industrial motive applications.

NMHG intends to commercialize Nuvera’s research and technology through the integration of its fuel cell technology across large parts of its Hyster® and Yale® product lines. The company expects to be able to offer its lift truck customers an integrated, factory-fitted fuel cell solution as well as associated hydrogen generation and delivery capability. In addition, NMHG also intends to offer aftermarket solutions designed to fit many other electric lift trucks.

The Ohio Fuel Cell Symposium, organized by the Ohio Fuel Cell Coalition, is an example of nationwide support for commercial advancement of fuel cell technology. Ohio offers specialized resources for the fuel cell industry, and is among the top states engaged in accelerating the nation’s leadership in fuel cell technology.
