Billerica, Massachusetts – October 4, 2021 – Nuvera Fuel Cells, LLC, a provider of fuel cell power solutions for motive applications, joins the seventh annual celebration of National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day. Nuvera proudly recognizes the employees, suppliers and customers powering the fast-growing hydrogen economy, and the contributions that fuel cells specifically are making to enable a sustainable energy future.

National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day is observed on October 8 (10.08) in recognition of the atomic weight of hydrogen: 1.008, with a goal of raising broader awareness of the limitless possibilities afforded by hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. Hydrogen and fuel cells offer the opportunity to reduce carbon emissions dramatically while potentially creating millions of jobs.

Nuvera’s primary focus is powering medium- and heavy-duty fuel cell vehicles and remains committed to enabling widespread zero-emission vehicle adoption. Over the past year, Nuvera has:

• Announced the commercial availability of the Nuvera® E-60 Fuel Cell Engine, which was awarded Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection Center certification
• Partnered with Capacity Trucks to develop electric and hydrogen-powered terminal tractors to be deployed in shipping ports globally
• Expanded its hydrogen fuel cell engine testing capabilities with the commissioning of a large-scale durability test facility in Osio, Italy
• Partnered with DD DANNAR to develop mobile fuel cell power for diverse industries
• Joined the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance
